LYRICS!

So I had to do a solo today for Mixed Chorus (aaaah!) and so to make my song more interesting, I re-wrote the lyrics to the song “Fireflies” by Owl City.

You would not believe your ears
If I said my greatest fear
Was singing in class in front of all my peers

So I put on a smile
And dance while all the while
I swear my heart’s going a minute per mile!

I’d like to make myself believe
That I am not so mortified
However I’m forced to face the truth
However hard that is:
I simply cannot force myself to sing!

No matter how hard I try,
My voice just goes awry
I just can’t get my throat  to comply

Everyone’s eyes on me
Ulmer’s trying to see
If I deserve a grade above a ‘B’

I’d like to make myself believe
That I am not so mortified
However I’m forced to face the truth
However hard that is:
I simply cannot force myself to sing!

I can’t decide which would be worse
Between singing a single verse
Or maybe having a horrid curse
Could someone maybe go fetch a nurse?

To all of my classmates
Please help before it’s too late!
I think I’m gonna faint, a singer I ‘ain’t!

I’d like to make myself believe
That I am not so mortified
However I’m forced to face the truth
However hard that be:
I simply cannot force myself to sing!

I’d like to make myself believe
That I am not so mortified
However I’m forced to face the truth
However hard that is:
I simply cannot force myself to sing!

I’d like to make myself believe
That I am not so mortified
However I’m forced to face the truth
However hard that is:
I simply cannot force myself to sing!

I’d like to make myself believe
That I am not so mortified
However I’m forced to face the truth
However hard that is:
I simply cannot force myself to sing!
